This full-day exchange event began in the morning with a special academic lecture titled "The Flow of Cross-Cultural Exchange in Contemporary Japanese Cinema," delivered by Professor Alec McAulay from Yokohama National University. The session explored various cross-cultural elements and interactive dynamics portrayed in modern Japanese films, followed by a collaborative workshop where Taiwanese and Japanese students co-created short screenplays and shared their work in groups to foster deep cross-cultural understanding. During lunch, students from both universities engaged in casual, free-flowing conversations, gaining insights into each other's daily lives and cultural nuances. The afternoon session kicked off with YNU students introducing Japan’s traditional seasonal food culture alongside an overview of their home institution, followed by a warm gift exchange. In return, our department students delivered presentations in English and Japanese showcasing Taiwan's rich culinary culture, sparking an enthusiastic Q&A session. The event concluded with reflection sharing and thoughtful dialogue regarding cultural observations. Overall, this exchange provided a valuable platform to enhance language proficiency, broaden global horizons, and build lasting bilateral friendships.
