This special cultural exchange was seamlessly integrated into our department's "Japanese Conversation Drill (I)" course, providing students from both National Chengchi University and Yokohama City University (YCU) with a valuable opportunity to apply their language skills in a practical setting. As many visiting students from YCU had previously studied Chinese, the peers from both universities engaged in lively dialogues by alternating between Chinese and Japanese. They shared various topics, including Taiwanese culture, personal hobbies, and daily student life. This tandem language interaction not only maximized the practical usage of their target languages but also greatly deepened their mutual understanding of each other's lifestyle and cultural background. By fostering an authentic and natural communicative environment, this classroom exchange successfully enhanced our students' conversational proficiency, expanded their international horizons, and marked another positive milestone in deepening ties between Taiwanese and Japanese youth.
