Inspired by Natsume Soseki’s literary masterpiece Ten Nights of Dreams (夢十夜), this year's Japanese Night featured an innovative script that woven a deeply moving love story spanning over a century. Beyond the captivating theatrical drama, the showcase integrated live bands and dance troupes, displaying a diverse and mesmerizing stage charisma. The student band delivered a breathtaking, high-caliber musical performance, while the dance crew crafted a stunning visual feast with high-energy choreography and dynamic lighting design, fully showcasing the students' immense talent and dedication. Yet, a spectacular production relies not only on the performers in the spotlight but also on the tireless efforts of the entire backstage crew. From the chief and deputy coordinators, public relations, copywriting, video production, visual design, props, costumes, and makeup, to script translation and general administration—as well as the reception, stage management, lighting, and sound crews on the night of the event—every member's seamless collaboration was vital. It is this collective passion from both cast and crew that made this year's Japanese Night an unforgettable success, beautifully carrying forward the proudest tradition of the Department of Japanese.
