To cultivate talents who promote mutual understanding between Taiwan and Japan, the Morito Institute of Global Higher Education at Hiroshima University will conduct the "2026 Summer Hiroshima University Japanese Language and Japanese Culture Special Program" during the upcoming summer vacation. The program currently offers the following two sessions:
Advanced Course: Thursday, July 16, 2026 – Friday, July 31, 2026
Standard Course: Thursday, July 2, 2026 – Wednesday, July 15, 2026
This program is planned to be held in person. For a detailed itinerary, please refer to the attached schedule.
I. Eligibility Criteria
Current undergraduate students in their sophomore year or above who have an interest in Japanese culture.
Applicants must be able to enroll in overseas travel insurance.
II. Application Procedure Please prepare the following documents: (a) Recommendation List (To be filled out by the Department Office) (b) Application Form (Attached Excel file; there are two types of forms, please ensure you select the correct one) (c) Photocopy of Passport (If you have not yet obtained a passport, please submit it immediately upon receipt) (d) ID Photo (A recent photo taken within the last month; please submit an electronic file such as JPEG) (e) Academic Transcript for All Semesters (English version required; single-semester transcripts are not accepted)

III. Fees
Advanced Course: Fees payable to Hiroshima University (A)+(B): (A) Program Fee: 96,000 JPY; (B) Accommodation and Cleaning Fee: approx. 20,000 - 25,000 JPY.
Standard Course: Fees payable to Hiroshima University (A)+(B): (A) Program Fee: 72,000 JPY; (B) Accommodation and Cleaning Fee: approx. 20,000 - 25,000 JPY.
Additional self-funded expenses: (1) Round-trip airfare and local transportation in Japan, (2) Meals, (3) Overseas travel insurance, (4) Passport and visa application fees, (5) Personal transportation and souvenir expenses, etc.
Note: Each university may nominate a maximum of 5 students. If the minimum enrollment (5 students) is not met, the program may not be held. Students may choose the appropriate course based on their own circumstances. We encourage you to consider this opportunity carefully and apply enthusiastically.
