To encourage university students nationwide to showcase their Japanese creative talents and deepen their understanding and appreciation of Japanese culture through haiku, a traditional form of Japanese poetry, our Department of Japanese Language and Literature is hosting the "2024 12th National Japanese Haiku Contest." Japan Airlines is hosting the 41st JAL Cup Northern Region Japanese Speech Contest. Interested students are invited to refer to the attached documents for detailed participation eligibility and application procedures. Purpose: To encourage diverse foreign language learning and enhance translation skills among NCCU students to meet the demands of an internationalized society, the Center for Translation and Cross-Cultural Studies at the College of Foreign Languages is organizing the “Foreign Language Translation Rookie Award.” Undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students at NCCU are welcome to participate. In addition to traditional Chinese-to-foreign and foreign-to-Chinese translation tasks, this competition introduces an AI post-editing task across all language groups to explore future possibilities of human-machine collaboration in translation. 2.
